Meet James!

This week, we’re introducing James Hayes, our Group Support Manager 🎉

James has been part of the Studio team for 10 years this month, joining us on 14 September 2016! 🎂

As Group Support Manager, James travels across all our venues, supporting the teams wherever he’s needed. And his favourite part? Getting out and about and catching up with all the Studio teams! 🧡🩶💚

When he’s not working, you’ll find James at the gym, rock climbing or getting creative with 2D animation 🎨

🎬 Favourite film: Stand by Me
📖 Favourite book: The Martian by Andy Weir
🍜 Favourite food: Yakisoba noodles with breaded chicken

And here’s a pretty impressive fun fact… James has his own animation YouTube channel with 21.5k subscribers and over 4 million views! 🤯👏

With an incredible level of competition across the region from purpose-built venues like ours, to hotels, stadia and unique venues being shortlisted is a fantastic achievement in itself.

A huge well done to the whole team! 👏🙌⭐️

🎢 A day of firsts at Alton Towers!

On Monday, we headed to @altontowers @altontowersconferences for the @venuesofexcellence Sales & Marketing Forum and it was Jack & Emilie’s first ever @venuesofexcellence event!

They took loads away from the day, from tips on becoming better salespeople to building stronger relationships with agencies. 🤝

And then there was Jack… who experienced his first ever rollercoaster! 🎢

Starting with Nemesis, he was instantly hooked and somehow managed to squeeze in Toxicator, Galactica, The Wicker Man, The Smiler AND Oblivion before the park closed! 😱

Safe to say, it was a day of firsts all round and one very successful introduction to rollercoasters! 😂🎢

Meet Mark! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🥘

This week it’s the turn of Mark Joyce, our Head Chef in Birmingham, who’s been cooking up a storm at The Studio for an impressive 9 years! 👨‍🍳

Coming from a hotel and restaurant background, Mark loves the work/life balance at The Studio, getting to do what he loves, working with fresh ingredients and creating dishes from scratch, while still having time for his wife and two daughters.

When he’s not in the kitchen, you’ll find Mark enjoying a pint with friends, family days out… or occasionally heading to the Molineux to watch the mighty Wolves! 🐺⚽

🥩 Favourite food: A good steak
📖 Favourite book: Purnell’s Journey: There and Back Again
🎬 Favourite films: Star Wars, The Godfather & Tears of the Sun

😂 Fun fact: At just 9 years old, Mark was given a proper dressing down by none other than football legend Brian Clough for leaning on a stadium wall! Mark was simply waiting for his dad, who happened to be the linesman that day… but Cloughie clearly wasn’t having it!

Nine years at The Studio and still standing… despite the early Cloughie training! 😂

World Charity Donations Day 2026 🧡🩶💚

At The Studio, we’re always looking for ways to make a positive difference.

Instead of sending Christmas cards last year to our team, we invited colleagues to nominate a registered charity close to their heart, redirecting the cost of cards and postage towards causes that matter.

This resulted in 17 charities being supported across children’s healthcare, cancer support, mental health, humanitarian aid, safeguarding and animal welfare. ❤️

A simple idea, but one that made a meaningful difference. We look forward to supporting more charities again this Christmas.

Welcome to Team Tuesdays! Every week we will be introducing you to a member of our brilliant team and this weeks it’s Gintare, our Venue Manager from Team Birmingham!

🎤 How long have you been part of The Studio?
Since 2013, so she’s pretty much part of the furniture! 😂

💼 What do you love about your job?
I’m lucky to have a role where every day is different. I really enjoy being involved in events, working with our clients and the team, and seeing everything come together on the day. I especially enjoy the variety of the role and the people I get to meet along the way, there’s never really a dull day!

💃 What does Gintare get up to when she’s not at The Studio?
I love keeping active, especially dancing and training at the gym. I’m also a big Formula 1 fan, love travelling and discovering new places, and spending time with my cat Luna.

🍣 Favourite food?
SUSHI. 🍣 Enough said!

📚Bookworm?
I love autobiographies, especially stories about people with fascinating careers and lives. Most recently I read Zac Brown’s and Susie Wolff’s autobiographies and really enjoyed both.

🎬 Favourite film?
Dune: Part Two - I absolutely love Hans Zimmer’s music and the soundtrack is incredible. I’m also a big fan of Zendaya!

💥 Fun fact?
I recently did a 10K inflatable obstacle course…that was fun!
