Lunch Hour @ thestudio Manchester
Posted on 01 July 2015
Have an hour to kill on your lunch break? Rather than clock watching until your next session kicks in, why not stretch those legs with these great suggestions courtesy of the local studio team! Whatever you fancy doing, we’re sure you’ll find something on this list.
Venturing out …
Nestled in the northern quarter of Manchester, The Hive isn’t just the home of thestudio but of an amazing eatery: Pie & Ale. Apart from being a great combination of décor, food and service, this place is a brilliant location to reenergize just before that long journey home.
I could do with a brew …
The Brits are world renowned for a ‘spot of afternoon tea’ and café Sugar Junction, Rosy Lee tea rooms and Teacup Kitchen will make for a perfect setting for this (not more so than thestudio of course). If you’re scouring for some class cakes or thirsty for a charming cocktail, these places are just lovely and are 5 minute walk away.
Vintage You Say?
Have a fondness for all things alternative and vintage? Then Affleck Palace will keep you busy! In just 5 minutes you can find yourself having a good old fashion rummage. You never know what gems you’ll uncover.
Speaking of Hidden Gems…
Have you ever been to John Ryland’s Library? Opened in 1900 and taking 10 years to construct, this beautiful building is truly a work of art inside and out. So if you’re a lover of architecture and archaic books then this is one site to tick off the bucket list and is under a 20 min stroll.
Feeling Artsy Fartsy?
We have some great options! If you’re a fan of the arts why not stretching those legs and head to Manchester Art Gallery? It usually has a whole host of interesting pieces on display. Check out What’s On page to see what splendours will be coming up in time for your conference and making sure you’re on time, its around 11 minutes away.
Let’s Go Shopping…
Got enough time to hit the shops? The Arndale Shopping Centre is only 12 minutes walk away and has over 200 stores! If you’ve forgotten that all important birthday gift or just enjoy window shopping, you could definitely shop ’till you drop (hopefully not as your peers may wonder where you’ve gone!)
Sunny Britian?!
As we all know, British weather is renowned for its temperamental behaviour, so if you’re lucky enough to get sun kissed on your break, head over to Piccadilly Gardens. 5 minutes’ walk from The Hive, it provides a lovely little sanctuary surrounded by the bustily city of Manchester.
Now that you’ve strut your stuff around Manchester, your next session awaits!
