a pause for reflection…

Sometimes we need to reflect on where we have come from and what we have achieved. It’s good for the soul and keeps us focused on where we are going.

When Lawrence nudged me this week and suggested it was time for a blog and Kinga asked me for a cover piece for our team newsletter I have to admit that my brain went into a bit of a meltdown. Often we can become completely absorbed in what we are trying to achieve in the long run. I once heard a business guru talk about learning to ignore the bigger picture, because you lose focus on what is happening today. So I admit today’s piece of carefully crafted wordsmith is going to be a complete cop out on my part. I am doing this for me and for my fellow directors and for all the fantastic people who work for us and have worked for us over the past five and half years of thestudio…

So as a reminder of what is happening today and what will carry on happening tomorrow and purely based on what happened yesterday and the many days before that, this is what our customers and our friends say about us. I hope you will forgive the self-indulgence.

thestudio… is an excellent venue, and I will use it whenever I am looking to hold an event in Birmingham or Manchester

The staff were even out with the vacuum cleaner in between sessions!  Impressive.

Definitely use again.  The event ran smoothly due to the great set up of venue and efficiency of the staff.

Our trustee board were really pleased with the venue and really liked it  The menu selection during our visit was perfect Choose thestudio… a venue which is a good match for our business in look and feel.

Excellent, probably worth having signs which say whose food is for who as some other people tried to eat our lunch! Well dealt with though.

Thanks Julian, and please thank your staff for their care and attention on the day and with the booking, I must have changed or added several times and it was always handled promptly and with a “virtual” (as done by e mail) smile Excellent, food was first rate as were the variety of refreshments I cannot think of any way to improve as it’s excellent The delegate said she “thought this was the best venue she had ever been to. She would definitely recommend it to everybody she knew” This was unsolicited; she did not know who I was.  I was really pleased with thestudio… Manchester – it made my life very easy.  I loved the fact that the rooms were all already fitted with most AV and flipcharts, and all on one floor.  The service was outstanding from all staff – the food was wonderful and there was plenty of it.  Passion fruit meringues – divine! I asked her how it went and she said really well as everything was taken care of without her having to chase and is looking to hopefully use Birmingham too. She mentioned all too often with other venues she has had to be on top of everything but you guys were one step ahead all the time. Of all the venues they deal with they rate the team at thestudio… most highly and have to date NEVER received any negative feedback concerning either of the venues Loving @studiovenues once again! It’s a random selection and Just a very few of many comments we get each week that  remind us of why we do what we do and the positive reactions we create.

A few blogs ago I talked about the sad story of Shakers, a new start up business next to us here on Cannon Street in Birmingham who closed after less than a years trading. This week another new business has started up in their place. They are a business called Mint and are a nail and beauty salon. Cannon Street is fast becoming the centre of the beauty retail market in Birmingham with a number of independent and chain stores specialising in helping us to look beautiful. But if you look closely between the Tanning Shops, Nail Shops and Beauty parlours I think you’ll find something else rather beautiful with some beautiful and brilliant staff waiting to welcome you in.
