Room to grow: making connections at Birmingham Tech Week’s ScaleUp Summit

Finding customers, securing investment and hiring the right people are familiar challenges for a growing company. But when founders face a decision they haven’t made before, knowing who to ask for advice can be just as valuable.

On Thursday 22nd October, The Studio Birmingham will host Birmingham Tech Week’s ScaleUp Summit. Founders, investors and business leaders will come together to discuss what it takes to move beyond the startup stage, manage a growing business and reach international markets.

Sessions will cover leadership, preparing for investment and using AI to support growth, alongside scaling operations, industrial innovation, climate technology and international expansion.

Getting to know the right people

Talent, capital and expertise give a business community strong foundations. Relationships help businesses make use of them.

For a founder, that could mean finding an investor who understands their sector, receiving specialist advice, or being introduced to a potential customer. Meeting face-to-face gives people time to explain what they’re working on, hear about one another’s challenges and decide whether they could help.

Making room for those important conversations

Some of those conversations will start during a session. Others might happen over coffee or when someone stays behind to ask a speaker a question.
