If you were lucky enough to be around Birmingham last week you may have seen quite a few events kicking off, not just the long awaited England Vs. Wales match (well done to Wales), but the unveiling of Grand Central, the opening of John Lewis and the activity packed Birmingham Weekender!
With lots of exciting events now behind us, it is hard to imagine there’s much life left in September, but you’d be surprised! As the month comes to an end and autumn slowly draws in, turning the leaves and even the Moon red… We’d like to introduce our new menu!
As fall bares a whole host of ripe treats to the table, a change of seasons truly wouldn’t be the same without the studio menu tasting which also takes place every quarter. If you’re interested in joining our taster panel then Tweet us @studiovenues to get on the guest list! The more the merrier.
If you we’re able to join us this Monday you’ll have been able to feast both your eyes and tummies on our alluring autumnal selection. From heart-warming Beef Bourguignon to Heritage Carrot Tart Tatin served with red onion marmalade and treats like “Snickers” Eaton mess, what’s not to love?
We hope that you’ll be able to join us in our next gastronomical journey.
thestudio are moving up in the world! Up north to be precise, further afield then Manchester, we have now set up camp in Leeds!
What is this place you speak of?!
If you were given a map of the UK, would you be able to point out a City called Loidis? It’s a bit of a trick question but if you know where Loiners come from, you’d know we’re talking about Leeds! In 731, our new place of settlement was formerly known as Loidis which then became (more recognisably) Ledes. Sooner or later it unscrambled to make the name we know it as today.
Silver Screen Stardom…
Did you know the first moving picture was shot in Leeds? We didn’t either! Apparently in 1888, French inventor Louise Le Prince recorded scenes in Roundhay Garden and of Leeds Bridge. From silver screens to going for gold, Roundhay Park holds the top spot on Tripadvisor’s top 30 things to do in Leeds list. (more…)
Now that summer has firmly planted its feet on British soil, it’s not hard to guess what yearly event is underway… so grab your shades it’s time for Wimbledon! We’ll be showing matches on our main screens so you won’t miss a thing…
Tweet your tennis favourite @studiovenues #Wimbledon2015
Younger than the world’s oldest tortoise, Adwaita who lived until he was (speculatively) a whopping 255 years, Wimbledon is a timid 138 years of age… Funnily enough the rules have virtually stayed the same since its conception!
Did you know that over 27 kilos of strawberries will be consumed during the tournament? Hence our inspiration to commemorate Wimbledon with a Strawberries & Cream Cake! Have a break and grab some cake @studiovenues. Cake not your thing? Then why not check out Colmore Business District Food Festival! Running from the 3rd– 4th July, it offers the perfect opportunity to indulge in the summer sun. (more…)
Oh fudge, here comes another National Food Day!
Smothered in chocolate or crammed with cranberries, fudge is a delicacy made for all, with a huge variety of flavour combinations it shouldn’t prove too difficult to find one to fall in love with.

Tweet your most savoured fudge combination @studiovenues we love hearing about food.

If you’re hoping the UK will follow the trend of American Doughnut shops and hand them out for free… then come join thestudio on this occasion and delve into some delicious doughnuts!
Duel National Day…
Today is also National Best Friend Day and is there a better way to express your love by giving your bestie a doughnut. No good reason not to!* (Unless they don’t like them…)
Tweet your favourite filling @studiovenues
We Doughnut believe it…
Did you know that International Doughnut Day was originally commemorated in honour of the men and women who dished out this holey treat to soldiers during the First World War? Neither did we but now we do! (more…)
What is aromatic, tastes fantastic and is a classic…? No matter your age it’s hard to resist the temptation of freshly baked gingerbread! A reminiscence of Christmas or perfectly coupled with an afternoon tea, today @thestudio we celebrate National Gingerbread Day! (Yes such a thing does exist!)
Tweet your favourite gingery flavoured food @studiovenues. We’d love to hear about it!
Around the world…
Ginger looks unique and is definitely the life and soul of the party, featuring in both savoury and sweet dishes around the world! Not to mention it’s well known title as a super food used to soothe and treat colds, coughs, indigestion or even motion sickness. Is there something this little root can’t achieve?!
“Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
Bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens,
Brown paper packages tied up with strings,
These are a few of my favourite things…”
Here @ thestudio, I’m sure you could guess a few of our favourite things, well, one which has the most prominence: FOOD!
No matter the cuisine, thestudio are sure to honour all things delectable, from creature comforts like a heart-warming beef chilli or a sweet treat to supply a much needed sugar rush to support you on your travels home.
Talking about sugar rush, did you know tomorrow is National Taffy Day? We had it saved in our diaries so we thought why not let loose and celebrate it a day early! (more…)
Whether you prefer to pull them apart, fill up on the filling, or dunking them in milk, whatever your ritual, it’s only a matter of time before their inevitable devouring! Here @ thestudio we appreciate everyone’s different, however originally you dine; so join us for an afternoon pick me up with Oreos.
These darkly coloured delectables are allegedly vegan! Talk about chucking dietary requirements out the window. Ever tried the chocolate filled Oreos? There might be one or two hidden amongst the originals. If you’re lucky enough, tweet @studiovenues #plunder. (more…)
It’s been a week since International CONFEX (19th – 21st March) in London closed its doors. How time flies in the world of events! It seems only yesterday we were unwrapping our Christmas gifts and now we’re slowly wrapping up the month of March! It’s funny that in a world based on people contact you really seem to sometimes miss keeping in touch with your fellow colleagues and peers. CONFEX is a great opportunity to meet old acquaintances, get to know new people and hear people’s enthusiasm for the services we offer.
This year we were part of an elite selection of venues that were brought forth under the Meet Birmingham umbrella. It was great to see so many people who recognise the advantages of holding meetings in the Birmingham area. More than ever, people realise that the West Midlands is a great hub for bu (more…)
